Bronze Alloy Market Price Weakens in Japan

Bronze alloy ingot market price is weakening in Japan. The successful bid price at the latest price tenders in Nagoya and Tokyo downed by 10-20 yen per kilogram for CACIn406 from a month earlier. The ingot makers are suffered from high material cost when scrap generation is seriously decreasing in the market. However, they cannot reflect high material cost on the ingot price due to the low demand for bronze alloy.

At the price tender held in Nagoya this month, the successful bid price seemed averagely 765-770 yen per kg, down by 17-18 yen from 780-790 yen in May. The successful bid price at another tender in Tokyo was averagely 710 yen, down by 10 yen from a month earlier.

Generation of copper scrap and casted bronze scrap has seriously decreased in the market since Japan Earthquake. Bronze alloy ingot makers must pay high prices to procure these scraps. Thus productive costs are surging.

On the other hand, one ingot maker said the demand for bronze alloy ingot hasn’t increased since the earthquake though the demand was expected to increase for restorations in the disaster areas. The market price seems lowering to around 800 yen for small-lot shipment.
