ADC10 Base Metal Market Price Upturns around Tokyo

Secondary aluminium alloy makers around Tokyo purchase domestic base metal (ADC10 grade) at around 188 yen per kilogram. The price has increased by 4-5 yen in a week. The price trend is currently upturning. The demand is increasing from domestic secondary aluminium alloy makers and aluminium melt makers. Meanwhile, generation of automotive engine scrap is seriously decreasing, the main material for ADC10 grade base metal.

Japanese secondary aluminium alloy makers and aluminium melt makers are steadily raising the operating rate along car makers’ output recovery. Thus the demand for base metal is improving. Order receipt volume of Japanese major secondary aluminium alloy makers for July is said at above 90% of a year earlier. One base metal maker suggested base metal price would reach 190 yen or more in July.
