China Major Al Alloy Makers Resume Full Operation

Chinese secondary alloyed aluminium makers of Guangdong Longda Aluminium and Baoding Longda Aluminium Industry resumed full capacity operation after adjustment due to slow automobile demand since Japanese major earthquake. The joint owner of Tokyo based deoxidizing agent maker, Nippon Kinzoku recognized the automotive order increases since mid-June to support the production.

The alloy makers in China reduced the production by as much as 30% from the level before the quake when the users of automakers and automotive parts makers reduced the operation. The automotive supply chain recovered in June to increase the alloy demand.

Guangdong Longda Aluminium plans 50,000 tonnes production in 2011, which is 11% higher than 2010 level. Baoding Longda Aluminium Industry plans 62,000 tonnes production in 2011, which is 19% higher than 2010 level. They reduced the production in March-June but the operation in July reaches planned level at more than 4,000 tonnes for Guangdong Longda Aluminium and at more than 5,000 tonne for Baoding Longda Aluminium Industry.

The alloy makers resume the capital expenditure after the freeze since the quake. Guangdong Longda Aluminium talks with the buyers for potential melted metal supply from pending new facility. Baoding Longda Aluminium Industry is securing adjacent land for new raw materials yard and related facility.
