Almine to Launch Vietnam Al Bar, Wire Making Plant

Osaka based aluminium products maker, Almine will launch Vietnamese plant to make aluminium bar and wire for 3 billion yen. The firm already started the construction work to complete in March 2012 and to start operation at monthly 2,000 tonnes in May 2012. The firm tries to improve the cost competitiveness through the new plant.

The firm controls 100% of the new Vietnamese company. The new plant is located in industrial park in Hoa Binh, which is 90 kilometers southwest of Hanoi. The firm builds new plant with 15,000 square meters of floor space on 30,000 square meters of land. The plant with a continuous casting and rolling mill provides the products for Japan, China and Southeast Asia.

Almine invests 3 billion yen in the Vietnamese plant for 5 years. The firm eyes expansion for production capacity and wider products range from the first stage with up to 35 millimeters of diameter.

The firm makes aluminium bar and wire with up to 25 mm diameter at plant in Nagato, Yamaguchi and bar and wire with up to 77 mm diameter at plant in Hagi, Yamaguchi. With the Vietnamese plant, the firm will diversify the production along with better cost competitiveness.
