Nippon Kinzoku Starts Shape and Roll Forming Stainless Steel Plant in Thailand

Japanese major stainless steel re-roller, Nippon Kinzoku announced on Thursday the firm starts local production of roll forming stainless steel products and flat stainless steel bars in Thailand. The plant will start operation with 2 shaping machines on July 1, 2011 and target production and sales at 1,000 tonnes per year until fiscal 2013 ending in March 2014. Production facilities, technologies and products will be provided from Nippon Kinzoku’s Fukushima plant in Japan. Total capex is projected at 100 million yen.

Nippon Kinzoku already prepared a plant of 1,000 square meters inside Nava Nakorn industrial estate, 30km north from Bangkok. The plant will start operation with 7 staffs initially, including technical staffs sent from Nippon Kinzoku.

Nippon Kinzoku has implemented OEM production and sales of roll forming products in Thailand since 2000. The firm decided the local plant establishment when the demand is expected to increase for shape stainless steels and roll forming products in Southeast Asia. The firm aims to enhance offshore businesses and expand sales and profits.

In the country, there has been another subsidiary, Nippon Kinzoku (Thailand) to process stainless steel strip.
