Nittetsu Steel Pipe to Start China Automotive Parts Making in 2011

Nittetsu Steel Pipe’s Chinese pipe making subsidiary, Wuxi NSP Automotive Parts will launch integrated automotive pipe making operation through parts processing in December when the new facilities setting will complete for drawing and parts processing. Nittetsu Steel Pipe moved 2 electric resistance welded pipe lines from plant in Gunma, Japan to the subsidiary in Wuxi, Jiangsu of China in March. Wuxi NSP Automotive Parts starts commercial operation of welded pipe in autumn after the firm gets approval from automakers and automotive parts makers while the firm ships the samples to the users.

Nittetsu Steel Pipe acquired Chinese pipe plant of Toshida Industry. Nittetsu Steel Pipe got operation license in June 2010 for the subsidiary, Wuxi NSP Automotive Parts with around 1.2 billion yen of capital. Nittetsu Steel Pipe controls 51% of the subsidiary with 17% share by Toshida Industry, 12% share by Nippon Steel Trading and each 10% share by Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Pipe & Tube.

Wuxi NSP Automotive Parts added 2-inch diameter electric resistance welded pipe line, pipe making machine and processing machine to former Toshida Industry’s facilities. The firm leased wider spaced plant in Wuxi National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone to move the plant.
