Hibino Industry to Construct Automotive Aluminium Die Casting Plant in Jiangsu, China

Aichi based aluminium die casting maker, Hibino Industry decided establishment of an automotive aluminium die casting plant in Changshu City, Jiangsu Province, China and start the operation in January 2013. The firm targets annual revenue at approximately 5 billion yen in China including the other existing plants toward early 2016.

Hibino Industry presently operates 2 plants in Aichi, Japan while one die casting plant and one machining plant in Shanghai, China. The yearly revenue in Japan was approximately 6.3 billion yen in fiscal 2010 ended in March 2011. The annual revenue of Chinese business totaled approximately 1.9 billion yen in CY2010. Aluminium consumption by Chinese plants is around 500 tonnes per month.

The new plant will be dedicated to production of automotive aluminium die casting components. The plant will obtain a die casting factory of 6,000-square-meter floor and a machining factory with 8,000-square-meter floor. Ten 350-tonne class die casting machines, three 800-tonne class die casting machines and sixty machining facilities will be introduced.

The total capex is scheduled at US$ 450 million. The new plant will consume aluminium at around 250 tonnes per month in the first year. The annual revenue is expected at 900 million yen.
