Denkishizai Starts Electrical Steel Sheet Processing Service in Suzhou

Denkishizai, Nippon Steel’s affiliating company to sell electrical steel sheet, established a new subsidiary in Suzhou, China. The subsidiary starts shearing service of electrical steel core for trance in late June, using Nippon Steel’s grain oriented steel sheet “Orientcore Hi-B.” Denkishizai opened another sales base in Suzhou in September 2008 and started sales of steel sheet and copper alloy in Southeast China. Denkishizai decided to launch steel sheet processing business additionally to meet the local users’ demand. The investment is about 150 million yen.

In Japan, Denkishizai installed no.1 shearing line in Sakai works in 2005 and no.2 line in 2009 to provide the service for heavy electric machine makers. Denkishizai aims to follow the demand growth in China’s transformer market mixes by mixture of its steel sheet processing technology and high quality of Orientcore High-B.

The new subsidiary’s capital fund is US$ 2.03 million. The subsidiary introduces a core cut line made by Utani, Japanese machine maker, to process steel sheet with 0.23-0.5 millimeters of thickness and 40-800 millimeters of width. The facility can cover steel sheet shearing for both small and large size transformers. Cutting speed is maximum 216 meters per minute. The processing capacity is about 300 tonnes per month, starting operation at 50 tonnes per month.
