Tokyo Steel to Widen Steel Sheet and Plate Lineup

Tokyo Steel Manufacturing widens product lineup for steel sheet in July. The firm will add new sizes of hot rolled sheet and plate while convert the original standard products of hot rolled sheet, TSS, to SPHC of Japan Industry Standard. The firm improves quality assurance and service for the users in order to compete with imported steel products.

Tokyo Steel has produced hot rolled sheet with more than 3.2 millimeters of thickness while adds new size of 1.6-millimeter thickness along the users’ requirement. The extra margin is set at 2,000 yen per tonne compared with the base size products. Meanwhile, the firm expects for the customer increase by adoption of SPHC standard since the firm becomes able to correspond for mill sheet. The extra price for SS400 standard products (1,000 yen per tonne) will be also ceased.

As for steel plate, the firm adds new sizes at 65 and 70 millimeters of thickness. The extra price is set at 3,000 yen per tonne against the base size products. The firm expects for the sales increase for building materials, construction machines and industrial machines. The firm’s Kyusyu works is implementing test production of 75-millimeter-thick plate, too.
