Nippon Yakin Kogyo announced on the 18th that it has developed a new cladding welding technology, “HALO-W,” through joint research with Hiroshima University.
By applying the hot-wire laser welding process and utilizing stainless steel strip, the new technology enables highly efficient cladding welding while helping improve weld quality. Since a wide variety of steel strips other than stainless steel can also be used, the technology is expected to broaden the range of applications for hot-wire laser welding.
