Gold Breaks 10,000 Yen for the First Time in Japan

The retail price of gold in Japan surpassed the 10,000 yen per gram mark for the first time. The over-the-counter retail price at Tanaka Kikinzoku Kogyo was at ¥10,001 including tax as of August 29. The yen’s depreciation, which temporarily reached its lowest level in about nine months, pushed up the price of gold denominated in yen.
