Japan Carbon Steel Export Drops for 9 Months in a Row in May

  Japanese carbon steel export decreased by 16.6% to 2.058 million tonnes in May from a year earlier, announced by Japan Iron and Steel Federation on June 29th. The export was lower than the previous year result for 9 months in a row. Though it increased by 7.5% from the previous month to 2 million tons level, it will not be expected to improve hugely after June, because of malfunction of the equipments in the blast furnaces steel manufacture, periodic maintenance while firm domestic demand.
