According to foreign trade statistics (prompt report) Ministry of Finance announced on 26th, iron and steel imports of 2014 increased by 21.4% from the previous year to 8.914921 million tons, it was the increase for the first time in 3 years. It reached 8 million tons for the first time in 7 years since 2007, it recorded high after 2000. Imports from China increased by over 70%, and them from Korea rose. Imports increased despite weakening the yen, because iron and steel market price in Japan kept stable tone.
