Electric Copper Wire Shipments Rises to 64,000 Tons in July

Electric copper wire shipments of about 130 Japanese electric wire makers in July of 2014 increased by 3.1% from the previous year to 63,600 tons, Japanese Electric Wire & Cable Maker’s Association announced on 20th. After the rise in the consumption tax, shipments kept modest rising trend in this fiscal year, and exceeded the previous year result for the 11 straight months since last September. Total shipments rose on the background that construction and electric sales field that accounts for over 40% of total, kept positive growth, and export show strong growth. On the other hand, June shipments of optical product decreased by 1.9% to 3.185974 kmc, it changed to decrease for the first time in 3 months.
