According to an estimate EUROFER announced on 17th, 2014 steels appearance consumption in EU (28 countries) increased by 3.7% from the previous year to 146 million tons, it was the increase for the first time in 3 years. 2015 increased by 2.9% to 151 million tons. Though it is the rise for 2 straight years, it is lower than 158 million tons in 2011 that is former standard of a Euro crisis and economic downturn precipitated by the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy.
