Electric Copper Wire Shipments Keeps Rising Tone in April

Electric copper wire shipments of about 130 Japanese electric wire makers in April increased by 6.5% from the previous year to 58,500 tons on QE, Japanese Electric Wire & Cable Maker’s Association announced on 20th. Though the rate of advance dropped because of the rise in the consumption tax, it rose for the straight 8 months compared with the previous year results. Shipments for construction and electric wire selling field which accounts for over 40% of the total kept positive growth, and exports quadrupled. On the other hand, shipment result for optical products in March decreased by 7.1% to 3.447049 million kmc, it changed to minus for the first time in 4 months.
