Nippon Light Metal to Discontinue Aluminum Electrolysis Business

Nippon Light Metal announced on 14th to discontinue aluminum electrolysis business operated in Kambara Works on March 31st. From now, the firm will supply refined bare metal (high-purity bare metal) based on import bare metal. Kambara Works had only been continuing aluminum smelting business in Japan because the works owned hydro-electric generation. Hence, this closure shows passing of aluminum smelting in Japan.
