Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal, Sumitomo Pipe & Tube and Nittetsu Steel Pipe announced on 29th that Sumitomo Pipe & Tube and Nittetsu Steel Pipe entered into a merger at both board meeting. They will merge on October 1st, and new firm’s name will be Nippon Steel & Sumikin Steel Pipe. Annual sales is around 120 billion yen and selling amount is over 1 million tons on a consolidated basis.
