January Japan Crude Steel Production Rises to 8.86 Million Tons, Up for 2nd Straight Months

Accoring to January Japan Crude Steel Production that Japan Iron and Steel Federation announced on 20th, these increased by 2.7% from the previous month to 8.865 million tons, an increase for 2nd straight months. It is on the background of improvement of export environment including adjustment of high yen, and output per day rose by 3.5% from the previous month to 286,000 tons.

By furnaces, converter steel increased by 6.9% from the previous month to 7.022 million tons and electric furnace steel decreased by 9.4% to 1.807 million tons.
