Exports of Copper Scrap Exceed 300,000 tons for the First Time in 3 Years

According to nonferrous metal export clearance statistics of 2012 Ministry of Finance announced on 30th, exports of copper scrap increased by 14% from the previous year to 328,284 tons, these exceeded 300,000 tons for the first time in 3 years. These for China which accounts around 94% of all exports, rose by 17% to 307,155 tons. This shows demand of copper scrap in China is in recovery trend. Export unit value decreased by 9 yen per kilogram to 246 yen.
