Mitsui Mining & Smelting Raises Processing Capacity for Zinc Secondary Materials by 17%

Mitsui Mining & Smelting increased processing capability for zinc secondary materials by 17%. The firm enhanced the equipment to raise oxygen loading in Miike Smelting which produce crude zinc oxide from flue cinder caused by steel making and melting fly ash. The enhanced equipment has already started. Processing capability of raw material increased to 700 tons per a day from 600 tons. The firm thinks to strengthen competitiveness of zinc smelting by a rise of procurement ratio of ore from mine compatible with investment ratio included expansion of secondary material.
