Ccopper and Brass Product Estimates for demand Are Downgraded for Fiscal 2012

Japan Copper and Brass Association announced on 21st that the association downgraded copper and brass product estimates for demand of fiscal 2012. Revised forecast decreased by 2.2% from the previous year to 788,100 tons, and it is 37,200 tons less than 825,300 tons which was estimated on March. Demand of copper strip keeps low level due to slackness of electronic industry. Copper tube and brass bar also couldn’t reach estimated demand level, and they are not estimated that it will improve on the second half. If total demand underruns 800,000 tons, it is the first time in 3 years since fiscal 2009 which is the year after Lehman’s fall.
