Japanese Electric Wire & Cable Makers’ Association announced on 20th that electric copper wire shipments of August increased by 3.3% from the previous year to 55,700 tons at total of about 130 Japanese electric wire makers, quick estimation. Shipments for “construction” and “electrician or distributor”, the heaviest users, keeps high level. Automobile also continues to decrease compared with the last year. Shipments of optical product for July exceeded 4 million kmc, for the 3 time this year.
