JFE Steel announced on 13th the firm moves into hot press steel sheet field to respond to high tensile strength steel used in structural backbone of automobile. Automobile maker and parts maker have been asking the firm to respond to hot press construction method to produce 1500MPa level high tensile strength steel parts, one of “Key point” technology to decrease auto weight, while automobile makers push forward weight saving aiming enhancement of fuel consumption and environmental control. A lot of automobile makers start to consider introduction to real car, JFE Steel said.
