Steels for Bridge High Performance Structure is Used for the First Time on the Market, Nippon Steel Says

Nippon Steel announced on 4th, Steels for Bridge High Performance Structure (SBHS) was used for the first time on the market after it was enacted as JIS standard. Yield strength is 400N/square millimeter, worth 50 kilogram tension strength of steel and it is weatherproof specification.It was used to Shingu River Bridge, weight of bridge is about 180 tonnes constructed in Taki-gun Mie prefecture. It was used to around 10% of critical area including around supporting point. The firm has been producing and shipping a total of about 18,000 tonnes Steels for Bridge High Performance Structure including BHS, predecessor of SBHS, for the Tokyo Gate Bridge. The firm targets annual 30,000 tonnes of sales future.
