Sumitomo Corp. will start long-range contract talk of iron ore sales of MUSA which is iron ore joint venture with Usiminas, with Japanese and Chinese blast furnaces steel manufactures, because MUSA starts to export iron ore from 2013 in full swing. Though securement of harbor was behind schedule, production by MUSA is estimated to increase by 4 million tonnes from this year to 12 million tonnes next year, so the joint venture can increase imports. The firm aims to supply stably based on long-range contract with Japanese and Chinese firms toward expanding to annual 30 million tonnes outputs and annual 12 million tonnes exports in 2015.
