Ferrous Scrap Demand Decreases by 10% in This Summer

Demand of ferrous scrap is estimated to decrease because electric furnaces steel manufactures plan to stop furnaces from the scond half of July, summer break. Demand in Kanto area is estimated to be 400,000 tonnes in July, and fall by around 10% to 350000-360000 tonnes in August. On the other hand, shipment for another area is flat. Though exports for Korea keep firmer tone due to leftover of contracts, it is estimated to peter out because contracts were not concluded steadily after June.
