Sojitz announced on 13th that the firm will invest 49% to CPC Mineria in Mexico and start to produce barite, a kind of rare metal. The firm will restart mining and refinement business, and start to produce high-grade barite in summer of 2013. The firm targets 19% world share of the transaction volume looking demand expansion in petroleum oil and gas extraction time.
Barite is used to get rid of muck from drilling mud.
