Demand of ordinary steel has been recovering slowly, but it fell below 6 million tonnes on May after three months of suspension. According to orders by use the Japan Iron and Steel Federation announced on 10th, Order of ordinary steel increased by 15.6% from the previous year to 5.922 million tonnes, increase for three consecutive months, but it decreased by 3.4% from the last month, decline for two consecutive months. Though order for car in Japan keeps are in good form, order for vessel and industrial machine decreased. Exports underrun the previous month level due to reheat of high yen and softening of steel materials market in Asia.
