Nippon Seisen Cuts Cr Stainless Wire Price by 5,000 yen/t

Osaka based stainless steel wire maker, Nippon Seisen increases selling price of chrome series stainless steel wire by 5,000 yen per tonne for SUS 410 and SUS 430 grades for July order. The price hike is the first attempt since July 2011. The firm tries to pass higher cost price on the selling price when the rod makers increased the rod price for June order to reflect higher ferrochrome cost. The firm leaves price of nickel series products unchanged.

The firm adjusts extra charge for grades depending on alloy content. The firm reduces the extra charge by 5,000 yen per tonne for SUS XM7, SUS 303 and SUS 316 and by 25,000 yen for SUS 310S.

The firm sees sign to improve the demand in automobile, housing and electronics parts while the demand recovery realizes only in automobile area.
