UBC Market Price in Downtrend around Osaka

Market price of used aluminium beverage can (UBC) is likely to decline around Osaka. UBC supply is increasing in early summer while local secondary aluminium alloy makers and deoxidizing agent makers show weak appetite for UBC. The supply and demand balance is loose. Local UBC users presently purchase pressed UBC at 100-108 yen per kilogram including freight. The price is cheaper by 10 yen or more than a month earlier.

One local re-melted aluminium can scrap ingot (RSI) maker lowered its UBC purchasing price by 3 yen this week. Other RSI makers seem to decrease their purchasing prices by 2-3 yen next week. UBC generation will increase more toward summer. However, secondary aluminium alloy makers’ output plans might slow down for July-September compared with April-June. Deoxidizing agent makers are suffered from slow product shipment. Market demand would maintain weak for UBC.
