Antimony Price to Increase around Osaka

Antimony market price would increase from 1,300-1,350 yen per kilogram around Osaka. The price would reflect higher offshore market price. The price increased by around 4% to US$ 13,000-14,000 per tonne late last week, according to Reuters.

World leading Chinese suppliers increased the antimony selling price. Japanese dealer source expected the suppliers would fail to increase the price under slow antimony trioxide demand for flame retardant plastic in the world. However, the suppliers offered higher price and offshore market price increased in late April.

The dealers around Osaka cannot follow higher offshore market price yet. One dealer source sees local market price is still based on offshore market price of US$ 13,000 yen per tonne or more. Local market price will increase but the users have little appetite for the material under slow demand. The dealers would keep normal level of purchase and shipment for the material.
