Marubeni-Itochu Steel Widens Construction Material Business in USA

Japanese major steel trading company, Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc. (below MISI) announced on Tuesday the company invests total US$ 10 million to widen the business field of construction materials at the two affiliates in the USA, Quality Edge Inc. (QE) and ClarkDietrich Building Systems LLC. (below CDBS), those which are controlled by MISI’s US subsidiary, Marubeni-Itochu Steel America Inc.

QE is Michigan headed residential material maker, manufacturing aluminium and steel soffit, fascia, gutter and siding. QE currently decided to enter the market of steel-sheet roofing material. The company will install shaping equipment and related facilities with approximately US$ 4 million capex and start the commercial production in April 2013.

CDBS is Ohio headed manufacturer of steel sheet framework for non-residential constructions. CDBS recently acquired Florida based vinyl construction material maker at approximately US$ 6 million. CDBS plans to cultivate new customers by packaged sales of steel sheet frame and vinyl construction materials.
