Tokyo Steel Leaves All Steel Prices Unchanged

Tokyo Steel Manufacturing announced on Monday the firm leaves steel selling price unchanged for all items for distributors for June order. The firm keeps the all price as May order while the plate price keeps the level for 6 months in a row. The firm decided the price when the market couldn’t accept price increase under slow domestic demand and excess supply.

The firm keeps adjusting the production level to the demand. The firm plans 290,000 tonnes of production in May as April. The firm plans 140,000 tonnes of hot rolled coil production including 65,000 tonnes at Tahara plant and around 50,000 tonnes for export. The firm plans around 50,000 tonnes of H-beam output and 35,000 tonnes of plate output.

The firm started export talk for July shipment. With strong appetite from Asia and Middle East, the firm already secured around 50,000 tonnes of order at FOB 670-680 per tonne for hot coil and US$ 780-790 for H-beam. The firm keeps the export at the price level to secure certain production volume.

The firm leaves domestic spot selling price unchanged for H-beam, concrete reinforcing steel bar and plate. The price level is 76,000 yen per tonne for H-beam, 59,000 yen for rebar and 66,000 yen for plate.

The firm added pickling coil with 1,600 millimeters width for the offer for the distributors. The firm has provided the wide coil for users from Tahara plant. With higher production volume since March, the firm launches the product for the distributors market.
