Nakayama Steel Works to Improve Profitability

Nakayama Steel Works announced on Monday the firm tries to improve the profitability through 4 major actions for going concern. The firm shifts from high cost domestic integrated steel source to steel source from offshore integrated steel makers and domestic electric furnace steel makers while the firm revises the products mix.

The firm also seeks synergy of electric furnace operation technology and hot rolling technology to use more electric furnace steel source. The firm expands the sales for middle- and high-grade products. The firm reduces cost for maintenance, outsourcing and labor while the firm improves yield and operation efficiency.

The firm seeks further cooperation with Nippon Steel group in mid-term. Nakayama Steel Works utilizes 41 bases of the group to improve the customer service. The firm develops market for amorphous sheet steel and magneto striction type torque sensor.
