Bronze Alloy Market Price Turns Down in Japan

Bronze alloy ingot market price decreased in Japan. The successful bid prices at the latest price tenders in Tokyo and Nagoya dropped by 35-45 yen to 645-665 yen per kilogram for CACIn406 grade alloy.

The successful bid price at the tender held by a large-lot user in Nagoya on April 23 was 665 yen per kg, which is 35 yen lower than the previous tender price. At the previous tender, the successful bid price reached 700 yen for the first time in eight months. The price turned down again.

At another major price tender held by a major water tap maker in Tokyo on April 25, the successful bid price decreased by 45 yen to 645 yen per kg from the previous tender price. The price hit the highest in seven months at tender in March but the price turned down again.

Bronze alloy ingot makers are concerned on worse profitability when market prices of copper scrap, the main material, are high due to low generation volume while the ingot prices weakened at the latest major tenders. The alloy orders are weak from water tap industry, the main alloy user.
