Secondary alloyed aluminium makers agreed with aluminum scrap dealers to reduce scrap purchase price by 3-7 yen per kilogram around Osaka for second half of April. The price decreased by 5-7 yen for higher grade scrap and by 3-5 yen for lower grade scrap. The makers’ purchase price is 152-157 yen for new cutting grade and 111-116 yen for used beverage can (UBC).
Some alloy makers reduced higher grade scrap purchase price by 10 yen per kg when Japanese imported primary aluminium ingot breakeven point decreased by 10 yen to 195 yen on Friday from early April. The lower grade scrap purchaser price decreased only by 3-5 yen per kg under steady demand. Some makers pay higher price for aluminium sash scrap and used aluminium wheel. The price decreased by around 5 yen for UBC due to lower primary aluminium price.
