LIXIL Formally Announces New Sash Plant Establishment in Vietnam

LIXIL Corporation, Japanese housing equipment and building material maker of JS Group, formally announced on Friday the firm established a local subsidiary in Vietnam to manufacture housing aluminium sashes. The investment totals approximately 30 billion yen. The plant is scheduled to start mass production in November 2013.

LIXIL established the local company inside Long Duc industrial park, Dong Nai Province on April 5 with US$ 40.7 million (approximately 3.4 billion yen) of capital fund. The company will generate approximately 2,000 jobs. The plant construction will commence in November 2012 on the site of 550,000 square meters. The factory buildings will total 120,000 square meters.

The new plant mainly produces aluminium sashes for houses from casting to assembly processes. The output capacity is planned at 30,000 tonnes per year. LIXIL will mainly bring and sell the sashes in Japanese market while eye the sales to ASEAN countries.

LIXIL has operated another subsidiary to manufacture housing aluminium sash in Thailand. The products have been brought and sold in Japanese market. Thai site had suspended operation due to the flood disaster since October 2011. The main factory returned to the normal operation in March. The other factory also restated mass production this month, which is expected to enter normal operation in May.
