Sanyo Special Steel Finishes 60% Expansion of Car Wheel Bearing in Zhejiang

Sanyo Special Steel announced on Wednesday the formed and fabricated materials making subsidiary, Ningbo Sanyo Special Steel Products (NSSP) in Zhejiang, China added a 2,000-tonne vertical press machine for around 700 million yen. NSSP follows the demand growth for bearings of automotive wheels through the additional facility when car production is locally increasing.

NSSP now holds 3 vertical hot-forging facilities including the new one. NSSP’s productive capacity increases by 370,000 pieces or 60% to 1 million pieces per month through the expansion. NSSP held a ceremony to celebrate the company’s 10th anniversary and the installment of the new press machine on April 9.

NSSP had produced bearings for automotive wheels at 630,000 pieces per month with a 2,000-tonne and a 2,300-tonne vertical hot-forging facilities. Sanyo Special Steel expanded the capacity to meet growing demand when the firm expects Chinese car market continues to expand.
