Nippon Atomized Metal Powders to Launch New Fine Powder Plant

Nippon Atomized Metal Powders, which is subsidiary of Nihon Seiko, starts operation of Tsukuba plant on Thursday to make fine powder for electronic parts. The firm expands the melting capacity of fine powder to total monthly 320 tonnes, which is 60% higher than current level. The firm tries to start commercial shipment as early as possible through approval process by the users.

The firm has monthly 200 tonnes of fine powder making capacity at the headquarters plant in Chiba while the firm has another 200 tonnes of melting capacity for alloy powder.

The firm supplies the fine powder of copper and precious metals to multi layered ceramic capacitor and other electric parts. The demand increases for smart phone and mobile devises worldwide.

The firm tries to meet the growing demand through the new plant. The headquarters plant, which secure additional space after the move of fine powder making line to the new plant, can expand the production for magnetic materials. The fine powder making new plant develops next generation ultra fine powder with less than 1 micrometer.
