Kobe Steel Gets First Order for Micro Binary Generator

Kobe Steel announced on Tuesday the firm got order of micro binary MB-70, which is small binary power generation system, from spring inn in Oita. Small binary power generation system with 100 kilowatt or smaller is first application for domestic hot spring and geothermal power generation. The firm launches steam based binary power generation system with 120 kilowatt level in late the year. The firm targets annual 3 billion yen and 100 units sales by 2015 by following the small generator demand including plant liquid waste power generation.

The firm launched the micro binary system in October 2011. The system is to generate from renewal energy including hot water with 70-90 degrees of centigrade or other geothermal and plant waste. With the energy, the system is to make steam of HFC245fa for power generation. The system can make maximum around 70 kilowatt of power.

The system with shared shaft of screw turbine and generation rotor can be operated stably for long period of time. The system can keep operating at high performance generation even under unstable energy. The compact system can reduce the space and initial cost.
