Nittetsu Steel Pipe Finishes Lines Move to China JV

Nittetsu Steel Pipe completed the Chinese pipe making joint venture, Wuxi NSP Automotive Parts’ transfer to new plant to establish integrated production from pipe making to parts. The joint venture expands the size menu to serve local transplants of Japanese automakers and local automakers. The firm targets around 20% higher sales at 7,620 tonnes in January-June from same period of 2011.

Nittetsu Steel Pipe moved 2 inches welding pipe line, drawing line and processing facility from Gunma plant to the new plant of Chinese joint venture by end of 2011. The plant provides samples to automakers and parts makers. With the new production base, the firm tries to follow growing local demand for automobile.

Nittetsu Steel Pipe acquired the Chinese plant from Toshida Industry starting new operation in July 2010. Nittetsu Steel Pipe leads the plant with interest by Toshida Industry, Nippon Steel, Nippon Steel Trading and Sumitomo Pipe & Tube. The joint venture’s sales were 13,800 tonnes and 1.865 billion yen in 2011. The joint venture operates a 2 inches welding pipe line, 2 pipe in coil drawing lines, a non oxidizing heat treatment furnace and cutting and other processing machines.
