Kyoei Steel to Hike Rebar Price by 3,000 yen/t

Kyoei Steel announced on Friday the firm increases selling price of concrete reinforcing steel bar by 3,000 yen per tonne at all plants for April order. The firm increases the actual selling price to improve the profitability while the firm tried to realize official price of 65,000 yen for stable selling price. The firm will keep low level production to keep stable supply balance.

The firm left the selling price unchanged at all plants for March order. The dealers reduced the reselling price under lower ferrous scrap price. The lower price of the market pressured on Kyoei Steel and other makers.

The firm sees the demand improves nationwide while the production cost increases for electricity, energy and oxygen. The firm decided the price hike at all plants to improve the profitability.
