LIXIL to Install Additional Facilities in Koyabe Plant for Regional Optimization

LIXIL Corporation announced on Thursday the firm introduces additional facilities in Koyabe plant, Toyama Prefecture, Japan starting operation in and after April 2013. Koyabe plant will renew a melting furnace in the casting line while the plant adds three extruding machines to an existing one line and appends one surface treating line to an existing line. Through the around 9.3 billion yen of investment, the plant optimizes regional production of aluminium architectural materials in Hokuriku area.

Koyabe plant started integrated production of aluminium building materials in 1992. The site currently manufactures aluminium sashes for buildings and houses as well as aluminium exteriors as the core plant in Hokuriku area. The plant will install new and additional facilities for regional stable supply of aluminium architectural materials.

Takaoka plant in Toyama Prefecture, Japan will continue operation of some productive lines until Koyabe plant’s new facilities enter full scale operation. LIXIL had decided closure of old Takaoka plant.
