Kyoei to Renew Ferrous Scrap Processing Machines at Mizushima Plant

Kyoei, Kobe headed major ferrous scrap dealer, renews shearing and press machines in Mizushima plant, Okayama Prefecture, Japan within this year with approximately 400 million yen capex. The firm decided the facility renewal to process various types of ferrous scrap generated from integrated steel makers. A new press machine will be installed in July while a shearing machine in October.

Kyoei opened Mizushima plant in 1968 to process ferrous scrap generated in Mizushima industrial district. Mizushima plant covers ferrous scrap processing business as well as steel plate cutting business with two NC gas cutting machines, a plasma cutting machine and an automatic cutting machine. Kyoei will newly introduce a 1,250-tonne shearing machine and a 300-tonne press machine in Mizushima plant, both of those which are energy saving types.

Kyoei has managed ferrous scrap since 1927, covering a large area from Tokyo to Kyusyu, collecting, processing, supplying and exporting ferrous scrap to domestic steel makers and to East Asia. The annual sales volume was 1.6 million tonnes and the revenue was 59.3 billion yen in CY2011.
