Japan Electronics Material Shipment Drops by 10% in November

Japanese electronics materials shipment including offshore production decreased by 10% to 268.2 billion yen in November from a year earlier, according to Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association. The shipment decreased for 11 months in a row due to slow shipment for capacitor and swithc. The shipment decreased by 8% to 102.9 billion yen for domestic users.

The electronics materials shipment decreased by 15% to 92.3 billion yen for passive component in November from a year earlier. The shipment was less than 100 billion yen for 2 months in a row. The capacitor shipment decreased by 19% to 52.1 billion yen. The shipment was less than a year earlier level since April and the range of decrease expanded.

The connecting component shipment decreased by 13% to 68.4 billion yen in November from a year earlier. The shipment decreased by 23% for switch.

The shipment increased by 1% to 67 billion yen for transducer due to firm demand for audio equipment and small motor.
