Hanwa Corp’s Quay Inventory Increases by 1.1% in December

Hanwa Corporation announced on Thursday Japanese quay inventory of imported steel products increased by 1.1% (2,000 tonnes) to 179,000 tonnes around Tokyo and Osaka Bay at the end of December from a month earlier. The inventory increased after two months. By year-to-year comparison, the inventory increased by 42% (53,000 tonnes).

In Osaka, the quay inventory increased by 4.1% (4,000 tonnes) to 101,000 tonnes from the previous month. By items, stel plate increased by 14.2% (1,000 tonnes) to 8,000 tonnes, hot rolled coil increased by 6.4% (2,000 tonnes) to 33,000 tonnes and cold rolled coil increased by 1.6% (1,000 tonnes) to 60,000 tonnes.

In Tokyo, total quay inventory decreased by 2.5% (2,000 tonnes) to 78,000 tonnes. Hot rolled coil decreased by 10.6% (5,000 tonnes) to 42,000 tonnes while steel plate increased by 11.1% (1,000 tonnes) to 10,000 tonnes and cold rolled coil increased by 8.3% (2,000 tonnes) to 26,000 tonnes.
