Japanese major trading firm, Sojitz Corporation announced on Thursday the firm and Australian lithium producer, Talison Lithium signed memorandum of understanding for supply of lithium carbonate and joint marketing for Japan. They keep talking for potential cooperation for a year.
Talison Lithium studies potential new plant to convert high grade lithium concentrate from Greenbushes mine in Western Australia into lithium carbonate. The firm targets to start the plant with annual 20,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate production capacity in 2015. Sojitz Corporation supplies various lithium-ion battery materials.
