Slow Export to Cut Russia Secondary Al Output

Russian secondary alloyed aluminium makers are reducing the output when the export slows for Europe under the financial crisis. Japanese major maker, Daiki Aluminium Industry’s Russian office said to a reporter of Japan Metal Bulletin the Russian industry situation.

Secondary alloyed aluminium demand is decreasing in Europe due to the slow automobile output. Daiki Aluminium Industry said Russian alloy export decreased by around 30% for Europe in October from September. The firm sees the export would decrease by 12-15% for November and by 10-13% for December.

Daiki Aluminium Industry sees the Russian makers would reduce the output more in and after December compared with the level in November to meet the demand.

The output was 14% higher at 396,162 tonnes in January-October than the figure in same period of 2010, according to the industry group in Russia. The export increased by 14% to 249,010 tonnes when the demand was strong for the largest importer of Japan and Europe.
