Bronze Alloy Market Price Maintains Weak in Japan

Bronze alloy ingot market price maintains weak in Japan. The successful bid price at the latest price tender held by a large-lot user in Nagoya was 630 yen per kilogram for CACIn406 grade while the price is 565 yen per kg at another major tender held in Tokyo. The prices are weak when electrolytic copper ingot price has decreased since July. Moreover, bronze alloy ingot makers cannot offer high prices under stagnant demand condition.

At the price tender held in Nagoya this month, the successful bid price increased by 25 yen from the previous tender of a month earlier. However, electrolytic copper ingot price was 630,000 yen per tonne as of the latest bidding, surging by 70,000 yen from the previous tender. Thus higher copper price wasn’t reflected on the bronze alloy price fully.

At the latest tender held by a large-lot user in Tokyo, the successful bid price decreased by 15 yen from the previous tender in October. Electrolytic copper ingot price was 600,000 yen per tonne as of the latest bidding, which was 20,000 yen loper than the figure of the previous tender.

These tenders are held in the late week of every month and the successful bid prices impacts on bronze alloy ingot market price. In the market, copper scrap generation maintains very low and then scrap price is increasing. Bronze alloy ingot makers suffer high-cost material procurement.

Meanwhile, orders for bronze alloy ingot stay inactive since the Japan Earthquake. The ingot makers are forced to offer low prices to secure the sales volume. The demand keeps slow from housing, construction, machinery and lavatory industries.
